SunGard’s Stream Suite Supports New York Portfolio Clearing Interest Rate Futures

Paris (PRWEB) September 27, 2011

SunGard has enhanced its suite of middle- and back-office derivatives solutions to support the clearing of Eurodollar and U.S. Treasury Futures via New York Portfolio Clearing, LLC (NYPC), a derivatives clearinghouse and joint venture between The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) and NYSE EURONEXT.

Member firms can use SunGard’s Stream Derivatives solutions – Stream Clearvision, Stream GMI and Stream Ubix – to register and manage positions of NYPC’s listed interest rate futures. In addition, Stream GMI and Stream Ubix now support London SPAN-based margin calculations on NYPC-cleared futures and options based on risk arrays provided by NYPC.

Walter Lukken, chief executive officer of NYPC, said, “Regulatory reform is driving much change in the derivatives industry. Being able to offer middle- and back-office support via SunGard’s Stream solutions will help us offer our members a way to capitalize on these changes through a reliable, efficient and accurate means to manage the processing of listed interest rate futures and support risk-based margins.”

Laurent Jacquemin, global head of post-trade services for SunGard’s capital markets business, said, “SunGard continues to innovate as the derivatives industry evolves and new entities are launched. This strategy includes providing access to the latest platforms, products and technologies, such as the new cleared interest rate swap marketplace, to help our customers continue to grow their businesses efficiently and securely.”

Q&A: Option trading breakdown?

Question by joe_gutierrez247: Option trading breakdown?
Just a break down for the option trading with a put on toyota motors. If anyone is watching the markets you can certainly see that Toyota Motors (TM) is in some trouble and I trying to learn trading options and obviously I am in the beginning phases and is he reason for asking here. Anyway on with the question. TM is trading at around 74.00 dollars a share. I am thinking the stock is going to go down considerably in the next little bit. (without getting into why and strategy and all that jazz) Lets say I buy a 100 feb 10 70 put. I believe this is one contract with a strike price of 70 and the contract will expire on feb 20 saturday after the third friday. What is my break even point and how can I tell when and how much i am losing or gaining. Any extra help would be greatly appreciated and thanks for the patience. Greatly appreciated.

Best answer:

Answer by Joe S
When you buy, it is cost to you so the break even point because it is a put is the strike minus the cost(currently $ 1.30) so it would have to trade below $ 68.70 on expiration. if you don’t own any shares you actually would have to sell the option before expiration You could also buy it and sell it before expiration for a profit but in order to be profitable it would have to continue dropping in price more than what the traders are anticipating due to the premium you are paying which is priced high due to the increase in implied volatility. Of course by buying an option you know what the most you can loose is which is $ 130 per contract.

Prior to you even believe of doing this, you will need to sit down and do some analyzing of the condition in which the market is in at the present time. You will will need to be able to utilize various trading choice strategies whenever you notice that the market may be on an incline, when it looks like it’s falling or even when the trading seems to be at a neutral level.

After this you require to figure out what is going to be your ideal option for the condition in which the market is in at the time. There are over seventy unique sorts of alternative trading strategies, which is why this can be really complex. Even so particular conditions of the market will work better with particular sorts of choices. For example, if the market is on the incline you are going to want to sell what is referred to as a put alternative whereas you are going to want to get what they call a call choice. Now, if the market is declining you will want to do just the opposite.

]]>

You will also require to do some study on the distinct stock options that there are to purchase. You want to be able to use your strategy for particular various businesses and their diverse stocks they have obtainable.

A purchase price you are willing to pay will require to be made for an choice that is underlying and then you will require to sit and wait for a price that you especially like. You can begin doing this by either joining an on the internet broker or contact a broker that will do the trades instead of you performing them like you would do when utilizing an on the web broker.

Once your stock that is considered the underlying one reaches it’s target price you can then use your choice to get it or sell it with the market costs that are presently being utilized.

If the stock doesn’t happen to get to the price that you were hoping for you can let the choice go ahead and expire. Keep in mind though, with any kind of option there is a particular date for expiration and you will want to make positive to use your proper for the alternative to expire by that date and not beyond.

Options Trading Strategies That Work

Is there really such a thing as options trading strategies that work? Surely, there is. All you have to do is discover and learn a few of these trading principles and techniques. While some concepts give us a full view of technical terms, learning the following practices can very well give you tons of rewards and benefits.

Be reminded that option trading is tricky and complex, especially if you are clueless as to when to make that right sale or purchase. On the other hand, you need not have to be disheartened. As online trading advisers always say, everything about options trading need not be too complicated.

Dealing with stock options is like putting your hard-earned money to a valuable investment. It is like plowing that field for a potential harvest in a number of months time. With regards to options contracts, you just have to be knowledgeable in terms of value and price indicated in said contracts. Expiration dates are also a thing to care about.

]]>

The discipline behind options trading encompasses simple steps. To determine options trading strategies that work likewise employs particular practices.

First, learn when to negotiate and do it properly. If you want higher income, you may go for long-term securities. But if you want an investment with shorter timetables, then stock options is the best alternative. Studying the options contract is also necessary, particularly if you do not want such contract to expire worthless.

Second, be wary of OTMs. Out of the money transactions do not fare well for rookie traders, all because OTMs rely on stock price movements. We all know how hard it is to anticipate trends and even professional traders find it difficult to determine price movements.

Third, maximize every opportunity to earn by engaging in trade earlier. This usually occurs when an investor decides to sell his options prior its expiration date. Liquidity has always been important and waiting for your options contract to just expire is not the best practice.

Fourth, never underestimate the value of commodity stocks. It has been said that big surprises come in small packages and the same idea can be applied to commodity stocks. This may be non-conservative but surely passes as one of the options trading strategies that work.
